Vocal for Local
Swadeshi, Swadeshi, Swadeshi? Vocal for Local?
Why am I hearing these nowadays? Why do I need it? Isn’t Swadeshi enough?
Here’s why;
We mustn’t limit Swadeshi to just making, buying and selling things. It is an excellent terminology initiated by our honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji which could lead to vast development and enriches people’s lives in the country. But Vocal for Local is a next step towards atma-nirbhar Bharat.
It’s the time when most of the people have lost jobs, most of the businesses got affected due to the pandemic. During this time Bharat, without accepting defeat, is trying to boost our economy through becoming self-reliant so that new jobs can be created, transform business processes and strengthen efficiency.
Let’s strengthen ourselves to serve the world

5 Five Reasons Why To Buy Indian products
Every product is unique
Each product is exclusively handcrafted by the artisan itself the product thus created is unique.
Vocal for Local
Most of us were introduced to the term “Vocal for Local” or “Athmanirbar” by our Prime Minister , Shri Narendra Modi ji on August 15 , 2020 our Independence day. He was speaking during one of the most challenging times to our country due to the Covid crises and in addition the stand off with the Chinese troops
Vocal for Local means that we should be promoting products which are made in india, our local craftsman and artisans by way of our words and actions. Keeping this in mind, we should convey this message across the country, to our friends and family so that our bharat can be Atma Nirbhar Bharat - meaning a Self Reliant Bharat.
This does not mean that buying imported goods is bad, it is good in one or the other way. Trading with other countries is necessary for progress of our society as a whole. Because we learn many new things from other countries, while we teach the world, good things from our Bharat. But at the same time we should protect our culture and people.
We should have a balance on everything,our trade with other countries should be trade sufficient, not trade deficit. For example if we import goods from other countries for 1 lakh and we export goods for 1 lakh or more than that then it is trade sufficient , but if we import goods for 1 lakh and export less, then that is a trade deficit. Some products that we export are trade sufficient (Ex: Some agricultural produce and manufacturing of vaccines and medicines) and with some products we have a trade deficit (Ex: Manufacturing of certain goods and items like toys, electronics etc). So we have to make all the products as trade sufficient, so then it means that our country is a well developed country or Self Sufficient or Atmanirbhar.
Being self sufficient is especially important during times of crisis, such as COVID19, during which there will be a lot of trade and travel restrictions between countries.
With this aim, our Prime Minister had also launched a Make in India for the World project in 2014. This signifies India's aspiration to be a powerful trading nation.
Buying local products improves the economy , retaining our culture , it encourages people to make more local products at a good quality across the country and it is also good for us.
Now let's make a resolution to use local products more than imported products instead. So when you go shopping remember this and try to go Vocal for Local.
